The Lafayette College Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, invites eligible students to consider membership. Membership in Pi Sigma Alpha is limited to students who have demonstrated interest in Political Science and who meet the following academic standards:

  1. completion of at least six Government and Law courses (including three courses at or above the 200 level);
  2. attainment of at least a 3.45 cumulative average in courses within the department of Government and Law; and,
  3. scholarship sufficient to place the student in the top one-third of his/her College class.

While membership in Pi Sigma Alpha is primarily intended for Government and Law majors, students with a strong interest in Political Science who are majoring in other departments or programs (e.g., International Affairs, History, Languages) are eligible.

Induction of new members occurs at least once a year, typically in the spring semester. Students who meet the above standards will be contacted by the Department and invited to join the Society.
